Happy New Year!

It’s that time of year again, when we set goals and have high hopes for the year ahead. If you offer products and services to auto dealerships, one way to ensure a profitable year is to incrementally increase revenue streams from your current customers.

One of the most exciting products Flick Fusion has developed in the past year is VidCom, our mobile video communications app. VidCom is a tool designed to increase dealership sales and service revenue by allowing employees to connect with and engage consumers.

In a nutshell, VidCom allows service advisors and/or salespeople to initiate one-way live streaming video calls using mobile phones or tablets.

The reason FaceTime, Skype and other video communications apps aren’t widely used in business is because they require both parties to be using the same platform, e.g. iOS or Android. Additionally, these apps only enable two-way video calls.

Many people don’t like two-way video calls because they’re either camera shy, they want to protect their privacy or they just don’t feel comfortable on camera.

That’s why VidCom is a win-win. With a one-way live streaming video call, the customer can see the dealership employees, but the employees can’t see the customer!

Service advisors can use VidCom to show worn parts and demonstrate why repairs  are needed. Salespeople can use VidCom to follow up with leads or perform live vehicle walkarounds using a mobile device. A customer can see everything and participate in the conversation while maintaining their own privacy.

VidCom works seamlessly across platforms so one party can be on an iPhone while the other party is using Android. Perhaps best of all, VidCom integrates with a dealership’s CRM, so all video communications can be stored in the CRM and sent to the customer for future reference.

This enables salespeople to send vehicle walkaround videos to prospects; and service advisors to send video repair explanations to customers who want visual proof.
